FastSearch Demotion with FS4SP-PowerShell

FAST notes #2— 404 HTTPNOTFOUND for some Sharepoint Sites!!

I recently came across a Crawler Error: 404-HTTPNOTFOUND for some sharepoint sites, that were actually reached by browser. I gave an Index Reset in my Search Application; for ensure that data remains in sync I used my Microsoft.FASTSearch.Powershell snapin for clear the content collection “Clear-FASTSearchContentCollection -name sp” Then a full crawl resolve my issue!! No More 404.. Nice.. 🙂

FAST notes #1 – Error in search service applications

FAST notes #1— I don’t know why, but when you get this kind of errors “QI for IEnumVARIANT failed on the unmanaged server..etc” or “Retrieving the COM class factory…etc” for everything you click in your FAST service applications, run an always good IISRESET on the Crawler Component of your farm..It’s a temporary fix   😉
